The Bogong Moth Taungurung Hooded Jumper is a black hoodie featuring art by Savanah Jenkins (proud Taungurung woman).
This is the second release in the Buwiga (Create) series.
In Savanah’s words:
“In creating my design, I was immediately drawn to the bogong moth (deberra). This remarkable creature holds significant cultural and ecological importance for the Taungurung people. Historically, the bogong moth was a crucial seasonal food source, helping the Taungurung people prepare for the colder months. Today, it remains vital to Taungurung Country’s ecosystem, serving as the primary food source for the mountain pygmy possum. I chose to feature the bogong moth not only for its beauty, but also to highlight that such a small creature can have such a huge impact.”
